"It's easy for people to say that something has value if it is tangible. I personally find many things of value that are not tangible........like my membership to IDHA. This past year I was in an unexpected situation of looking for a job after working in an office for over 12 years! I was able to stay busy temping for a couple of months while I did some soul searching of where I wanted my career to go. Through word of mouth I was offered several jobs. I truly believe that had I not been an active part in IDHA I would not have had so many contacts to help in my job search. It was the people that I had met in my component that spread the word quickly for me to get a job. The emotional support I got at the state level was amazing as well. I had a board meeting right after I lost my job. Showing up to my meeting with my head hung low I was coached and encouraged and able to leave with my head held high. I can't put a dollar amount on what I have found to be very valuable through IDHA. We never know when we will need our professions' support on a personal level. As everything in life.......when we give what we can, it will come ten fold in return! I'm proud to be a member of IDHA and I feel strongly that it is my professional responsibility to support our association! I will be forever grateful for the support they have given me!"
