Meet the board members elected to serve various terms by members of IDHA. All positions are voluntary and unpaid, with the exception of the Executive Director. They meet regularly to discuss and contemplate various topics regarding Idaho’s dental hygienists and how they can better serve the state. They plan and implement various events including continuing education. They stay informed of legislative changes in dentistry having effects on dental hygiene.

Tari Devaney RDH-EA, BS, MSDH
Tari graduated from the Idaho State University dental hygiene program and pursued her master’s in dental hygiene from Eastern Washington University. Over the years, she has practiced for a variety of settings, cosmetic, family, community health and periodontics. She currently teaches Clinical Dental Hygiene at the College of Southern Idaho. She has a passion for the underserved and works part time as the Dental Coordinator of the Wellness Tree and for Your Special Smiles, PPLC. Tari feels that ADHA/IDHA has given so much to her throughout her career and it is her time to give to her profession. She wants to grow our organization and build a strong foundation to support our future.

Annie Sundstrom RDH, MSDH
Annie graduated from the American Institute of Health Technology dental hygiene program in 2004. She later completed her Masters in Dental Hygiene from Forsyth School of Dental Hygiene at Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. Throughout the years Annie has practiced in both community and private practice settings. She currently serves as a program director for a nonprofit organization based in Northern Idaho and a clinician within a family practice. She is passionate about serving her community and bridging the gap between oral health and overall health. Annie’s passion for oral health is what has led to her serve on the IDHA. Annie believes service within the IDHA/ADHA allows dental hygienists to unite and empowers them to promote oral health education, access to care, and the dental hygiene profession.
Michelle graduated from College of Southern Idaho's Dental Hygiene program, and currently works in private practice in Boise for Periodontal Health Specialists of Idaho.
Alishea graduated in 2019 from the College of Southern Idaho's Dental Hygiene program. Since graduating, she has been working for Family Health Services where they offer services at a reduced-cost to the underserved communities. She started out part time in the Jerome clinic on a bus and has since moved over to their Twin Falls clinic where she currently works full time. She is passionate about helping those in need of oral care and is excited to learn more about the IDHA and how we can better serve our hygiene community.
Janis McClelland, BSDH, MSDH, RDH -EA
Janis McClelland has been involved in dentistry for over 49 years. She graduated from Forsyth School for Dental Hygienists, Boston, Massachusetts in 1993 following 20 years as an RDA. After moving to Sandpoint, Idaho in 1996 she became involved in the Idaho Dental
Hygienists’ Association and served as President in 2001 and currently serves on the Board of Direction as the Head Delegate. Janis represented Idaho dental hygienists for 2 terms on the Idaho State Board of Dentistry. At this time Janis is the Program Director for
the first cohort of North Idaho College Dental Hygiene students. She has been a member of ADHA for 29 years. Janis describes her most rewarding activity as being a volunteer for Special Olympics, Healthy Athlete~Special Smiles initiative. Janis completed her Masters Degree last May at 66 years old; a true lifelong learner. She is married to Doug, together they have 4 children and 12 grandchildren!
Janis’ special place is at the “cabin” on Lake Pend Oreille.
Chelsea graduated from the University of Louisville dental hygiene program in 2006. Chelsea is currently practicing dental hygiene and myofunctional therapy at McRae Dental. She is the owner of Tongue Therapy Idaho, working with oral dysfunctions in a variety of age groups. She is passionate about helping others and would like to help advance the career scope for dental hygienist in Idaho.
Jingjing graduated from College of Southern Idaho's Dental Hygiene program in 2019. She developed a passion for public health and increasing access for the underserved while studying in Dental Hygiene program. Currently Jingjing works part time for Your Special Smiles, PLLC and South Central Public Health District.
